During a recent stint of warm, balmy weather I let my mind wander to the sounds of the season; primarily bird songs. Migrants and residents are warming up their throats with songs that announce courtship, rivalries and territories. Whether inspired by this annual event or not, my husband requested an iPod shuffle for his birthday. Now I fall asleep to the muted musical strains escaping from his earphones. With the onset of this season of song, it’s no surprise that one of my favorite e-zines carries an article about songs that get stuck in your head during a portage.
